A ParmanodL is a computer with open-source Parmanode Bitcoin software pre-installed. It is a Linux machine, but you can have Windows on request. Actually no, ain’t nobody got time for that. Linux only.

A nice advantage of the ParmanodL, especially in Laptop form, is that your Bitcoin node and wallet-computer are all-in-one, with a battery acting as a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) to prevent data corruption if there’s a sudden blackout.

- Laptop systems are built on freshly installed Linux Mint OS. Pi’s on Raspberry Pi OS (Debian).
- For Pi’s, a FLIRC aluminium case (Fanless and silent – uses a metallic body as a heat sink to cool the device)
- 1 Tb internal SSD drive (recommended upgrade to 2 Tb). Pi comes with an external drive.
- Pi devices come with an ethernet cable and a Micro HDMI to HDMI dongle
- Bitcoin Core (or Knots) and an Electrum Server (electrs or fulcrum) will be installed and synced.
- Sparrow and Electrum Wallets, installed, verified and connected to own blockchain data
- BTC RPC Explorer and/or Mempool Space installed
- Tor (including browser) installed and onion addresses configured for external private access worldwide. Bitcoin will sync over Tor only for total privacy (slower) if requested.
- Lightning node (LND) with RTL wallet or Thunderhub – if requested
- Parmanode is educational to use, the software helps you become more skilled.
- Other options – Nostr Relay, Tor Relay, BTC Pay Server + more, can be added yourself with menu choices very simply.
